Preko comprises the surrounding villages of Sutomiscica, Poljana and Osljak on the island of the same name. The most attractive location for tourists is a beach on the wooded island of Galovac, only 80 m from the centre of Preko. Preko has a number of very good restaurants. Numerous folklore and entertainment programs are organized during the tourist season.
Preko is a small town and harbour in the central part of the eastern coast of the island of Ugljan. Chief occupations are farming, growing of vines and olives, fishing and tourism. The coast around Preko, partly under the forests, offers bathing possibilities. In front of Preko are the islets of Osljak and Galovac.
